Tiki tribal exotica' Description    Aloha!!!          What I am listing here are my hand crafted and HIGHLY detailed shrunken heads, based on years of research studying the real things.  I have sold these from time to time to friends in the entertainment industry and some of the larger Tiki events in Southern Calif.  I am a published painter known as THOR with a collector base in Hawaii. I am also a former Disney Imagineer with almost two decades of experience as Director, sculptor and Illustrator in the Entertainment industry. I put a lot of experience and passion into creating these..I LOVE making them!   I can give you a list longer than Shaquille's arm of testimonials from owners that these are by far the most believable, detailed and realistic heads available!   These make the goat skin or clay or rubber versions I see available look like Playschool toys!    NO CONTEST!      Each head is cast from my original sculpts in synthetic urethane's and rubber. There are over 20 transparent glazes of acrylic and several trade secret techniques that make the flesh look exactly like the dry, translucent leathery flesh of the actual shrunken heads made by the Jivaro tribe warriors of Ecuador.  Natural fiber hemp and synthetic sinew pierce the flesh and suspend the heads.  Hair is synthetic, highest quality from suppliers used for hair extension purposes in Salons.       I have come up with several techniques to accurately simulate the small amounts of natural aging molds that are seen in the real thing.  These look absolutely real..even in full sunlight!!  When displayed in a case, Glass dome, Tiki Bar or library, these things are the center of conversation from what past buyers tell me consistently.   Though heads are cast from two styles of molds, no two are alike.  I have others available as well.  This one is what's representing a "drying head".  It has the lip skewers and circular vine neck ring that keeps the head open for ""drying out".  It is stuffed with floral preserved "jungle grass" that protrudes as shown from neck.  Heads are very light..weigh almost nothing. Each head is 6"-7" from neck to crown.  Hair is about 24" long.     I have sold these heads for $300.00 plus in the past at Tiki Events with complete sell outs.  I am offering this style as a less expensive alternative for those who want one of these in their collection.  Buyers can add things like parrot feathers, beads or accessories.  The flesh can be pierced with a curved carpet needle to add ear danglers.  I have seen some pierce the nose and add small bone shards for the "bone through the nose" savage look.     Anyway..  I am listing one..and have three at this time in this hanging style.   I am keeping this auction short and will take these to the next Tiki event to sell at increased price if nothing moves here.  Get em' while they're hot outta the pot!!!     If you live close to the Valley in LA, CA, I can meet you to deliver this item.
