Here is the second size of our first full cage design. This is a steel coil design with 2 rings that interlock with a single post. I looked at other designs and did not care for the extra alignment rods or posts they had. My thought was that the lock should be able to do that job. A single post sliding through a collar that is drilled to accept a lock. The coil is welded on the underside to force the downward curve. I also want to add that the coil is hand forged on a steel mandrel from raw stock. Details. This version is the third version of this design. Its slightly longer and has a larger ID of the coil.  The coil is slightly larger than the ring it is attached to. It also has 12 coils as opposed to our first version of 10 coils. This provides more length, of about 1/2 inch or so. All steel construction and MIG welded. The metal is preped and painted with a clear enamel paint. I will be offering power coating and plating as soon as I work out the details. The first ring is 2 inches inside diameter. The second ring that has the collar and coil is 1.5 inches inside diameter. The coil is 1.5  inches inside diameter plus. The distance between the first and second ring is about 1/2 of an inch when locked down. We have added a second setting that brings the locking position out to 3/4 of an inch or so. The pin and collar take a fairly common  small luggage padlock. If you need one let me know. I have some on order. Length from the top side curve down is about 6.5 inches to tip. Bottom under curve is about 3.25 inches to tip. As I say, this is the third of many I will design and make.
