The narrower chamber raises the compression ratio, which typically provides more quickness and power in an Opel. These are sought after by Opel racers, as they are factory original and allowed within SCCA ITB class rules. (They were only installed on some 1968-1969 Opels). This head sat in dry storage for many years. It appears to have never been machined (still at about 4.05" height), the bottom surface appears flat with a straight edge, and it has original 1969-style 1.9 valves, springs, rotators, keepers and seals. It appears that no one ever "messed" with it. (It should be cleaned and have the seats replaced, as part of a typical valve job. The "white" marks are probably from the use of fuel or lead additives). Another bonus, isthis head uses the larger and readily available "later style" cam bearings, as it is also a "delta" head. It does not include a cam or lifters, so you can swap in a performance cam ground for hydraulic lifters if you want to. It will bolt onto any original 1.9 liter size Opel engine block, and will add value to a well-built Opel engine. Shipping is UPS Ground.
