Description
Just like Microsoft and many others have academic versions of software at reduced prices,Texas Instruments has the TI-84 silver edition calculator available for academia. The only differences between a retail TI-84+ silver edition and an academic version that I am selling are: Bottom cover and calculator back is school bus yellow. (The yellow slide plate cannot be ordered from TI's website. It is only available through the school program.) "SCHOOL PROPERTY" is marked on the bottom of the calculator in small type near the 0 key. They are available only in tens, not singly. I cannot imagine any student who is at the level of maturity to be taking classes requiring the use of the TI-84+ Silver to be involved in stealing; thus I think the "SCHOOL PROPERTY" marking is there not because theft from schools is a problem, but mainly to appease retail sellers who might feel this reduced price version disrupts their sales. To me, the bright yellow makes it easier to find the calculator amid papers on a desk, and also makes this TI-84+ stand out from someone else's for easy identification. The "SCHOOL PROPERTY" can possibly be rubbed off; I haven't tried because frankly, it not important to me. If it really bothers you, cover it with a name label or something. My PC says "PROPERTY OF HZLA" but that doesn't mean I stole it; I had bought it from the company that made too many customized computers. The calculator is new, never used. The set comes with the 3(!) cables, a set of batteries, the manual and the calculator itself. No fancy packaging- they came from TI in a bubble bag shown. The blue trash can that I used for the photo is not included. The internet price of the school pack is $1080 for 10 units, or $108 each. At Amazon, it's priced at $1148.74, or $114.87 each. I bought the school pack, but I only need one calculator. I am selling the rest. That's way high, and plus you have to buy ten.....from me, it's $90 shipped and you have to buy just one. I will pack it well to survive aggressive shipping techniques.
