Description
NAGOYA BONSAI PACKAGE (25 Mini Bonsai Size Lanterns) Ornaments to accent your bonsai garden they are also great for feng shui, miniature Zen gardens, doll house tea room or garden displays, desktop or computer area. terrariums, fish bowls. fish aquariums. Stone lanterns were originally introduced into Japan from China over a thousand years ago. The first were made of metal, and were primarily used to light doorways to shrines and temples. They were later made of stone, for use in Japanese gardens; but it wasn't until they were introduced into Japanese tea gardens by Japanese tea-master Sen-no-Rikkyu that they really became a major garden element. Japanese tea ceremonies were often held in the evenings, and light was needed to guide guests to the tea room. Stone lanterns can be classified into four basic categories: tachi-gata (pedestal lanterns), ikekomi-gata (buried lanterns), oki-gata (small, set lanterns) and yukimi-gata (snow-viewing lanterns). Today, stone lanterns are primarily used for garden enhancements and for visual delight. My miniature bonsai garden lanterns are made of Polyresin mixed with genuine granite stone powder. This provides a more realistic and detailed casting than plastic; however, this also makes the piece more fragile than plastic and subject to imperfections. You may see that this gives the lanterns a certain rough-hewn, rustic appearance. Some may also tilt a bit; but this can sometimes be accommodated by positioning. Please understand that these are characteristics of the casting process, and should be expected. PACKAGE INCLUDES 25 BONSAI SIZE RUSTIC LANTERNS. IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PUT THEM INTO YOUR AQUARIUM, YOU MAY SPRAY PAINT THEM WITH GOLD, OR SILVER SPRAY PAINT. HERE IS A GOOD TIP THAT I’VE RECEIVED FROM our eBay member: mikengreenwood “I give you a tip on making the lanterns look incredible in 30 minutes. Use the brand rustoleum multicolored textured paint (about $4.97 can). It comes in three colors at Walmart and Lowes. Beige, green, and dark grey.....all of which looks like granite and the lanterns loose none of their detail....” --- THANKS TO mikengreenwood If you have experimented with other paints, and would like to share the information with other buyers, please email me the information and I will include it with my listings. If you have photographs of your Bonsais or Mini Japanese Landcapes with my Pagodas/Lanterns and don't mind sharing them with our eBay community, please email them to me, so I may post them on any of my listings.
