The heavy bronze pedestal bowl measures 3” tall x 10 ¼” with a 4 ½” diameter foot and features 12- 7/8” diameter semiprecious stones (naturalbanded agate or chalcedony) with a 13th ¾” stone accenting an applied 10- point star in the center. The nut on the base is hand made and all of the stones are hand mounted, so it is most likely 19th century. The edge of the bowl has an applied rope-twist and beaded edge that coordinates with the twisted wire trim at the base of each gemstone. It is in good condition with soft polish to the visible surface sand scant traces of fire gilt surface on the underside. You will note scattered minor spots of verdigris.
