The back of the parchment contains the Hebrew word Shadai which stands for "Shomer Delatot Yisrael" or Guard the Doors of Israel. When placing the rolled scroll inside the mezuzah case, It is Important to place the Written 'Shaday' in alignment with the letter 'Shin' on the case.
