Consider this: they are no longer in production (not since 1994), so they are only available as antiques, yet they are still popular and used in many applications: bookstores, jewelers, frame shops, photographers, trophy shops, churches, ministries, scrapbook stores, leather stores, print shops, etc. In spite of the digital revolution where desktop publishing and presentation software is rapidly replacing offset printing, overhead projectors and sign makers, no one has come up with a suitable inexpensive method of stamping gold, silver or other colors of lettering and imprints to personalize a single item. Hot stamping is still alive and well in the 21st century, thanks largely to the Kingsley Hot Stamp Machine, be it ever so used. The Bible House Inc currently uses six of them in constantly for personalizing Bibles, books, pencils, albums, leather goods, etc. Kingsley HistoryThe first Kingsley Hot Stamp Machine appeared in the 1930's, designed by Lewis A Kingsley. He created the machine specifically to imprint fountain pens, and there is still a special type font called "Fountain Pen." But during World War II, many of the Kingsley Hot Stamp machines were re-tooled into wire markers to imprint narrow gauge wire used in wire harness manufacturing by the aviation industry. And they are still used for this purpose, but the currently produced machines are large technical automated models. The Kingsley Machine Company was sold in 1995 and all regular support for the older vintage model portable table top Kingsley machines has sadly disappeared. However, vintage or not and used or not, Kingsley Hot Stamp machines continue to be very functional. They are very easy to use, and are famous for their dependability and longevity.
