Voodoo Estate! This type of call usually gets us excited as they are a treasure trove. Located here in Florida, there was no electricity or running water so we rigged our own lighting & in we went. If you have ever seen the Adams Family you will have some idea as to what we were greeted with! Then the attorney handling the liquidation gave us some background. The home had belonged to an alleged powerful Voodoo Priestess/JooJoo Exorcist, grand daughter of a Marie Laveau, & favored daughter of a Marie Glapion. This did not have much impact on us other than to cause an uneasy feeling when in the house & we declined to spend the night while inventorying, deciding to stay in a hotel to return during daylight. Our research has shown that this woman was what she claimed & was indeed descended from a long line of well known Vodoun family originating in New Orleans in the early 1800's. We were pretty unnerved by this until we discovered they were also devout Catholics! Although I have to admit this was unlike any Catholic home I have ever been in & some of the items found inside were a little more than unnerving. There was no feeling of dread or unwelcome in the home, however there was quite a bit of contraband & other items we can not sell here on ebay. This is one of a few pieces from this estate we will be listing this week, so check our other items! Back To The Auction Natural selenite wands such as this one of varying lengths were found throughout this estate. These are attributed as a bringbacks from her 1923 trip to Morocco. Amazigh Kahina's Satin Spar Selenite In her journals she describes a meeting with a woman she names as "Dahyā, a direct descendant of Tabat of the Ancient Line of Amazigh Seers."  She describes her as "a scholar of ancient lore with clear foresight being her birthright." She claims to have sought this woman specifically, "for her source of this stone as she roams the night desert during the week of wane in search of Atlantean crystal.  This is then gently removed from the earth and caressed through the night by her.  This birthing charge is significant." It is also this woman who introduced her to the radical Qadiriyya Sufi whose rituals consisted of sticking knives into the bodies of his followers, an obscure practice our researchers have found still goes on today. She goes on to write, "Their music is meant to induce the trance they undergo before these stabbing rituals which bring them closer to God.  The scars the followers proudly display are signs they have been blessed by God.  When the knife is removed, the follower is healed using her crystals.  They endure years of spiritual and physical training to endure this torture." She makes some extraordinary claims concerning this source of Selenite & of these wands in particular, writing; "Keepers of Akashic Records and full of vibrational energy containing all of the positive energies of quartz.  As a light healer it facilitates rapid healing and has been a well used tool in my inventory." & "An energy enhancer and mind stimulator that generates a superior grounding energy useful in light work."  & "It fosters experimentation in it's use.  The continuous release of negative energy is very strong proving it essential to clear quartz talisman. Not only will these energies isolate the source of afflictions, it pinpoints the cause and treats this as well." & "These are meant to be held and massaged as it increases their power and output.  This energy is so strong that it will draw pain and discharge it successfully.  As with quartz it is well used in protection grids, bathing the protected in it's warming light.  Massaging along the grain will draw spirit guides to direct one across the bridge to other realities.  In this state the guides must answer any question, the answers often coming in dream state." Real or imagined, we certainly understand why she was as feared & respected as she was. ~!~ The Wands This is a natural Satin Spar Selenite wand with a beautiful silky luster or sheen along its surfaces that was broken off to create a smaller massage wand.  This was an obvious assumption as it was found on a polishing work bench with a small number of completed ones. The sections are semi-transparent and transmit light from one end to the other.  The largest section measures approximately 8 1/2" x 7/8" x 13/16" & the smaller section measures approximately 2 3/4" x 1 3/16" x 7/8". It is certainly a spectacular natural selenite wand lot with an extraordinary provenance that is much nicer than the pictures are able to depict. ~!~ We have been contacted & visited by a number of people who were interested in the items from this estate since our first batch was listed. Among the buyers have been known psychics & practitioners.More than one, after adorning themselves or handling their purchase, stated "this is a woman of power!" Many of our customers, after receiving items from this estate have reported dream contacts & other unexplained phenomenon. Unusual, authentic Voodoo Priestess Estate piece & at a bargain price!
