Description
pmckenry Store Amazing lot of items from the John F. Doyle family of Portland ME. Mr Doyle was a prminent real estate attorney in New York City I believe. Box full of old letters back to 1899. John Doyle's wife's name was Evangeline (Norton) and they had a son John F. Doyle Jr. Overall there are about 30 letters, many multiple pages. There are a few empty covers, and some letters without covers. You will also find several documents, legal stuff etc. I also saw 21 rental receipts from a "Patrick Ryan" to John Doyle in the 1870s-1880s. The best part of this lot is the group of 27 photos, that luckily, are almost all identified. These again, are the Doyle's and the Norton's. There cabinets, CDV, snapshots, etc. One is even dated 1866. Letters are addressed to Evangeline Doyle, John Doyle, and John Doyle Jr. A couple during WWII when John Jr was in the Navy.
