But while chatoyancy appears in Tiger-Eye in only one direction, in continuously structured bands or fibers, in Pietersite, chatoyancy appears in many directions, in swirls, in swaths or spots, and in fibrous segments. What's more, Pietersite has three main colors of chatoyance, golds, reds and blues, rather than the one color you commonly see in Tiger-Eye. These three colors can appear alone, or in any combination, making endless variation possible. When you hold a piece of Pietersite, and move it in different directions, you will be deeply struck by its chatoyance. You may even doubt your own eyes - - surely, such a gorgeous thing couldn't really exist - - could it??
