The Dexters were considered by some to be a bit eccentric, but this never seemed to bother them. They both actively practiced a variety of magick, from witchcraft to Shamanism to Voodoo and a whole range of healing and life enhancing arts. They lived on 53 acres just outside of town which allowed them to practice undisturbed. Their guests came from around the world to regularly meet for festivals and to share magick. The Dexters were not only practitioners, but avid collectors as well. They began collecting over 60 years ago and it was rumored that their collection was in the thousands. We just purchased a small portion of it, but we've been very impressed so far with these pieces. I never met the Dexters, but I visited their home for the auction. I was told that the auction was by invitation only, and that each guest had to be recommended by a reputable collector. One of my regular contacts invited me and I couldn't resist. The home was not like anything I'd seen before. It stood at the top of a hill overlooking a private lake, and I had to drive up a long, winding dirt road through dense forests just to reach it. The energy was indescribable, gently increasing as I neared. I could almost SEE the energy field surrounding the perimeter of the house as I parked and got out of my car. I could actually FEEL it as I walked up the pathway towards the front door. The massive interior was something to behold. Antique furniture tastefully decorated it, and thick antique rugs were spread gracefully across the floors. A vast array of art adorned the walls. Now I don't know much about antiques, but these were clearly expensive and hard to come by. This was really confirmed for me when the auction began. My car cost less than the price of some of the individual pieces! But I was there for the jewelry so I patiently waited through the other sales. I had already selected the two lots that I wanted to bid on, or I should say that they selected me. I had been perusing an endless array of unique and beautiful pieces of jewelry prior to the sale, when I was drawn to a corner table where a few dozen unassuming pieces were displayed together. As I approached them I could feel my pulse quickening. From experience I knew that this meant high energy. I carefully held my hand over the table and I suddenly felt my face flush. I caught movement out of the corner of my eye as several of the pieces shifted. I looked around and no one else seemed to be aware of the activity at this table. They were all too busy looking at the Tiffany, Cartier, Bulgari, and I'm not even sure what all else. So I knew. When it came time to bid on my auction I had relatively little competition. I was pleasantly surprised that most of the attendees seemed so oblivious to the obvious power right in front of them.
