On Aug-30-08 at 13:43:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Disclaimer: This is a correction to this listing.   This vest is a German army Flak vest Body Armor, Fragmentation Protective Vest Threat level Type IIA   My Research has found out that this armor should protect against a 22 caliber long rifle lead round nose bullet, with masses of 2.6 g (40 gram) at a velocity of 329 m/s (1080 feet/second = 30 ft/s) and a .380 acp full metal jacketed round nose bullets, with masses of 6.2 g (95 gram) at a velocity of 322 m/s (1055 feet/second = 30 ft/s) a 9 mm full metal jacketed round nose bullets, with masses of 8.0 g (124 gram) at a velocity of 341 m/s (1080 feet/second = 30 ft/s) and it will protect .40 S&W caliber full metal jacketed bullets, with masses of 11.7 g (180 gram) at a velocity of 322 m/s (1055 feet/second = 30 ft/s). If you are looking for a fully bullet proof vest you should look for a Level 3 or 5 vest. It is not stab proof unless you add blunt trauma plates. Which you can add.
