William Newcomb (born 1833 or 1834) married Miranda (also spelled Morinda) Hartt, the daughter of James P. and Olive Hartt, in Victoria County, New Brunswick, Canada. Their daughter Katie Newcomb (born 6 April 1876) married Edward Muckler. Daughter Viola Newcomb married Earl Clement. These two remained in New Brunswick. New Brunswick names include Clement, Muckler, Mockler, Giberson, Marshall, Wakem, Pickard, Wolverton, Ross, Downing, Shannon, Trott, Caldwell, Elliott, Lewis, and more. The sons Edgar Elmer Newcomb, John Ellsworth Newcomb, and George Leopold "Lee" Newcomb moved to Maine. Son William James born April 1870, died unmarried after 1901. Son Ralph G. Newcomb went to California, where he married Gladys Francis Slye, daughter of Franklin Albert Slye and Grace Lancefield Blunden. All allied lines have been followed as far as possible.
