This lapis is beautifully coloured, displaying all the natural shades you expect from a good quality stone, from intense, deep blue through vivid royal blue to paler "clouds" - there are even a few flecks of "fools gold" embedded in the stone. Before the modern lists were produced, Lapis Lazuli was the September birthstone and is the Sun Sign stone for Librans. Lapis Lazuli was sacred to the Ancient Egyptian Goddess, Isis, who believed that it holds the energy of a star-studded sky.
