We’ll tell you… The vocal cords are muscles, and like any muscle group they can be trained – not strength training, but coordination training.  Just like a pianist must train the muscles in his or her hands and fingers to do truly spectacular things, as singer, you can train your vocal cords to make different “coordinations,” practically exploding your choice of "colors" and range.  But you need a system. That’s what Brett Manning, and the Singing Success Program in particular, specialize in… helping you train your voice systematically. Perhaps a few examples would help.  Vocal Range--you probably have a pretty solid idea of how high you can sing and still sound good.  But did you know that there are certain exercises you can do that allow you to go even higher than you typically sing?  These amazing, but easy exercises are all that are needed to train your vocal cords in how they need to coordinate to vibrate in this higher range.  In our system, once you’ve mastered the first exercise, which usually takes only a few minutes, you move on to training with the next, and then the next, until in just a few minutes you can sing literally anything you want, easily and without strain, in your new, much higher range.  By the way, have you listened to Brett Manning's range demonstration yet?  Using the same methods he teaches in his program, Brett Manning has trained his voice to cover five octaves and can now even sing as high as Mariah Carey.  How many male vocalists can claim that? Vocal "Break"--How about eliminating that break in your voice as you sing higher and must “flip” into your falsetto voice?  You may not know, but there are "secret" exercises that can trick your voice into "bridging" the gap, and giving you a firm upper range (unlike the mushy, airy sound of falsetto).  There is that lower solid sound you make (called "chest voice," because it resonates mostly in the chest cavity).  Then there's an upper voice (called "head voice," because it resonates mostly in the head cavities).  **Head voice is not the same as "falsetto." With the right exercises, you can actually transition between these voices smoothly using what is called your “mixed” voice. Mastering "the mix" allows you to not only eliminate that hard break between chest and head, but it also allows you to sing the notes around that break without strain.  Of course, it doesn’t stop there.  The Singing Success Program takes a systematic approach to everything it teaches you.  You’ll learn similar techniques for speeding up your vocal licks and trills.  You’ll learn other new vocal coordinations, like “zipping up” your vocal cords.  (Most of us sing higher and lower by tightening and loosening our vocal cords.  The voice is actually designed so that by “zipping up” the vocal cords, so only a portion of the cords are free to vibrate (like fretting a guitar string), you don't have to strain to sing higher--you just "shift gears."  It’s an incredibly powerful technique!)  You’ll also learn to master the finer points of vocal “style” so that you can sing more than one genre of music, powerfully and authentically.  And probably most important of all, you’ll systematically learn how to sing at what has been called “speech level,” meaning that you’ll sing all of your notes as easily and naturally as you speak.  No more straining!
