Description
This is for the OUT-OF-PRINT SCARCE & VERY HARD-TO-FIND SANTA FE TAROT CARDS DECK by Tracy Huber... This 78 card tarot deck is based on Navajo mythology. Holly Huber and Tracy LeCocq developed the Santa Fe Tarot deck to guide readers down the Navajo Path of Beauty and Harmony. The Santa Fe Tarot book by LeCocq and Huber is a 224 page paberback book, and a great guide for further understanding of the Santa Fe Tarot deck. The tarot cards measure approximately 2 3/4" x 4 3/4". The images are inspired by Navajo sand paintings and are based on the myths and symbols of this Native American tribe of the Southwest. Many of the major arcana figures are yeis, or "powerful supernatural beings who provide special knowledge." The four suits have been renamed, and are as follows... water/cups, buffalo/pentacles, lightning/swords, and rainbows/wands. A little background about the creators of the Santa Fe Tarot... Sisters Holly Huber and Tracy LeCocq a lifetime residents of New Mexico who had an interest in Navajo sand paintings and their mystical qualities. After extensive research of Navajo mythology, they began exploring the possibilities of correlating traditional tarot with Navajo myths which is how this deck came about. Holly Huber holds degrees in art, history, graphic design, communications and education. A graphic design professor at Minot State University, her expertise and distinctive style is recognizable in all her works. Novelist Tracy LeCocq resides in Portales, New Mexico. She has penned more than ten Silhouette romance-suspense novels under her pseudonym, Marilyn Tracy. Holly Huber is the illustrator and Tracy LeCoeg is the writer.. In this deck, they have built an associaton between this "Path of Beauty" and the tarot with this deck, using tarot concepts and Navajo figures and mythology. This deck incorporates the traditional art form of "sandpainting". What a great gift for us, the sharing of the Navajo traditions and ceremonial knowledge.
